Jules Pansu was established in Flanders, France, in 1878. These Halluin tapestries are all woven on jacquard looms and offer true art lovers works of distinction made in the purest French tradition.
Jules Pansu has been working with top European artists, such as the Picasso and Miro Foundations, to reproduce their artwork in both cushions and tapestries. Each cushion/tapestry is an exact replica of the artwork, even down to where Jules Pansu uses different textures in the weave to mimic the textures in the paint. Each piece has a tag indicating its sign-off by the relevant foundation, and the tapestries all have the details of the artwork on the back. Such is the quality of the Pansu tapestries that three of the Pansu staff are acknowledged as ‘Best Craftsmen in France’. This is a distinction awarded by France’s Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Industry only to the best artisans in their field.
