Indigo Whipstitch Blanket
A luxurious, durable blanket for adventuring, homemaking, and everything in-between. The indigo version is like hardwearing denim, but because each blanket is made with offcuts, reflecting the production run before it, each may vary slightly in colour and texture.
For every 10 blankets sold, we send one to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, an organisation that helps asylum seekers feel welcome, safe and supported in Australia.
- Dimensions: 190cm x 152cm
- Material composition: 70% recycled merino wool, 30% blend of recycled alpaca, mohair and polyester
- Care instructions: Because this is a naturally antibacterial product, the easiest way to clean your blanket is to air it out by hanging it in the sun. Spot clean dirty marks and spills with lukewarm soapy water. If necessary, machine wash at maximum of 30ºC with a wool wash, then hang dry. Reducing machine washing extends your blanket’s life and reduces energy and water consumption.
- Country of manufacture: Tasmania, Australia
Seljak Brand was founded by two sisters who imagine a world without waste. We’re finding new ways of making and using beautiful things that are regenerative by design. We make recycled wool blankets using offcuts from the factory floor of Australia’s oldest woollen mill in Tasmania. The blankets are made in the same mill from 70% recycled Australian merino wool and a 30% blend of recycled alpaca, mohair and polyester for strength. Wool is a natural fibre that is incredibly hard to replicate – it’s a renewable resource, it’s odour- and stain-resistant, and has antibacterial properties. It is lightweight, breathable and insulating. After the blanket has enjoyed a long, adventurous life we’ll collect it free of charge using Sendle, a carbon-neutral courier service. Back at the mill, we’ll shred it and spin it into new yarn to make more blankets. This circular model allows us to divert waste from landfill and create a luxurious and useful blanket for you.
