In a time span of over 75 years, Picasso amazed the world with his versatility and genius. His art captured a unique style that was rich in personal expression and diversity. Picasso bestowed upon the world a legacy of art that will be admired for generations.
Most of the works of art below were selected from the personal collection inherited by Marina Picasso, Pablo Picasso's granddaughter.
After Pablo Picasso's death in 1973, his granddaughter Marina authorized the printing of original lithographs, which have come to be known as the Picasso Estate Collection, of which most of those featured below are from. The collection below also includes some original vintage posters, etchings and ceramic tiles.
The specific details of each work can be found within the descriptions of each individual work.
The lithographs in this collection were meticulously created after the original works (Oil Paintings, Watercolors, Pastels, Charcoal Drawings, etc.) by Master Chromist Marcel Salinas, who worked closely with Picasso in his lifetime. The estate prints were published between 1979 and 1982 in two separate editions of 500 and 1000, with varying methods of authenticity as detailed below.
The editions of 500 are printed on first-quality Arches paper and signed and numbered in pencil by Marina Picasso and embossed with the estate and chromist's seals, along with the legend on the reverse "Approved by the heirs of Pablo Picasso".
The editions of 1000 have the Estate-approved Picasso signature printed below the image, and 'Collection Marina Picasso' in typeset under the image, and the copyright info in typeset right of image.
